December 1st | 5 – 7pm

Join Lavanya Shubhakar in celebrating the unveiling of her latest art collection: Children of the World. Lavanya is creating a multi-panel multicultural artwork, titled Children of the World, to be installed in the Otis Library’s children’s department. Ten movable wall panels spanning across two main walls of the children’s area will be a celebration of world culture with a special focus on raising up the predominant nationalities in Norwich, Connecticut. The panels will focus on cultures of various regions/countries of the world and feature children of all abilities and ages taking part in cultural activities. Lavanya’s main goal for the project is for all viewers, people of all cultures and abilities, to find a part of themselves in the artwork.
