The 13 sections on each turtle’s carapace represent the 13 moons of the Pequot lunar calendar, honoring the cyclical rhythm of nature and ancestral timekeeping. Intricately rendered in mandala-style patterns, the design blends traditional symbolism with contemporary detail. Each turtle’s shell is embellished with stones and beads in the Indian Kundan style.
